Charming, historic hotel
~ Families welcome
Award-winning Gallery Restaurant
This
charming Cotswolds hotel is ideally located at the gateway to
the beautiful Cotswolds countryside and a short drive to the
nearby town of Chippenham in Wiltshire and the historical cities
of Bath and Bristol. The house, rebuilt in 1840, has a rich history
and is listed in the Domesday Book. It was once owned by Lord Burghley,
chief minister to Queen Elizabeth I. Following a programme of complete
refurbishment under new owners, Robert and Linda Davis, Stanton
Manor today combines modern facilities and comforts with original
period features including magnificent Tudor fireplaces and stone
flooring.
The hotel offers 22 spacious, individually designed bedrooms most
with views of the gardens or the village and church. Several boast
luxury king-size four-poster beds, whirlpool baths and stunning
New Oriental or Provençal themes, while four bedrooms are suitable
for families.
Head
Chef Paul Hudson and his team take pride in creating traditional
British cuisine using locally sourced ingredients as much as possible,
which is immaculately served in the elegant and light Gallery
Restaurant, recently awarded an AA Rosette for excellent food.
The Restaurant overlooks the grounds and features an eclectic collection
of art by prominent Oriental artists. Light snacks are available
all day in the cosy, refurbished bar or lounge.
Stanton
Manor, near Chippenham in Wiltshire is ideally located for visiting
many of the area's attractions including Stourhead House and
Gardens, Longleat and the beautiful cities of Bath and Bristol,
